Rainy Day in PSL 9: Matches Delayed, Excitement Undeterred
The much-anticipated clash between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 has been put on hold due to rain. Scheduled for a 2:00 PM PST start at Rawalpindi's Pindi Cricket Stadium, the match has yet to see the toss take place as grounds staff battle the persistent downpour.
While the start of this encounter remains uncertain, the day hasn't been devoid of drama in PSL 9. Earlier at the same venue, the match between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi was also washed away due to rain, leaving the contest unfinished.
Looking back at recent PSL 9 action, Quetta Gladiators secured a convincing victory against Karachi Kings in their previous match on February 29th at the National Stadium in Karachi. Sherfane Rutherford's explosive innings of 83 runs earned him the Player of the Match award.
Islamabad United, meanwhile, emerged victorious against Karachi Kings in their last meeting on February 28th at the National Stadium in Karachi. Colin Munro's brilliant 78 runs propelled United to a comfortable win.
The previous encounter between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore saw Multan dominate the Qalandars. A dominant batting performance and exceptional bowling led them to a convincing 60-run victory.
